Yah the girl in the middle But for some reason I can relate this one to loneliness coz this moment was a very happy moment for this guys but time will come all of them will be gone and the one who owns this picture will only have the memories left by this people, isn't that lonely? I think using a b/w snapshot really gets the point across. It makes it some random point in time that isn't perfectly staged, and brings out the raw emotions of the picture. To me, it kind of captures of loneliness off guard, without letting it be covered up by false emotions. Excellent work.

It's hard to remember to wear our happy mask all the time. You never know for sure what is happening in the mind behind a smile or frown, we can be deceived by either. A very good reason to get to really know someone before judging or condemning, particularly when it is an internet acquaintance, where we often don't even get to see face.

I saw an editorial cartoon once of a girl in a crowded cafeteria and she was saying to herself, "I really hate eating alone." Lonliness is a feeling inside a person. You can be alone but not feel lonely. Or as your picture brings out, you can be surrounded by others and still feel deeply alone.

I look at the picture and I ask, is she really lonely? Or is she just somewhere else in her thoughts?

Jose, you've captured something that is uniquely human -- our ability to contemplate our being. You wrote: "For me Loneliness is the most obvious evidence of our need to be filled by God." Jesus said, "Happy are those who are conscious of their spiritual needs." Therefore lonliness can be conquered even if you are alone, because you never really are.

hey this was a really good concept. something new that i havent really seen in a while. the black and white works really awesome because its like taking a freeze frame of real life sorta. like all this action is happening then it just stops for a second and you get a chance to look around before everything starts happening again. great shot.

I'm mad at myself for missing this....I'm going to go think now.
